TAOS, NEW MEXICO, October 15, 2025—A $250,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and Centinel Bank of Taos will support affordable housing development at Taos Pueblo, New Mexico, helping to address critical housing needs in the region.

The grant was awarded through the Native American Housing Opportunities (NAHO) Fund, a program created to support housing initiatives by federally recognized tribes and tribally designated housing entities. Taos Pueblo is one of 11 recipients of the 2025 NAHO Fund awards, which total $2.7 million.

“We are proud to partner with FHLB Dallas to help address the housing needs of our community,” said Angel Reyes, president and CEO of Centinel Bank of Taos. “Affordable housing is essential to the long-term vitality of Taos, and this grant will help ensure more families have access to safe, stable homes.”

Grant funds may be used for a wide range of housing-related needs, including down payment and closing cost assistance, rental support, home repairs and new construction. The program also provides grants for administrative and operational expenses such as new program development and consultant fees.

“The NAHO Fund is helping to close critical housing affordability gaps in northern New Mexico,” said Greg Hettrick, senior vice president and director of Community Investment at FHLB Dallas. “We’re grateful to work with dedicated partners like Centinel Bank of Taos to expand access to quality housing and strengthen communities across the region.”
