Bank Announces Recipients of $4.3 Million in Pathway Fund Grants

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (Bank) has awarded $4.3 million in 2025 Pathway Fund grants through 15 participating member financial institutions.

The 2025 grants will assist 42 organizations with clearing an estimated 3,020 titles and prevent heirs’ property issues by executing wills or deeds for more than 7,520 individuals. The grants are also expected to assist nearly 31,000 people with training and education.

The Pathway Fund (formerly the Heirs’ Property Program), created in 2023, addresses heirs’ property issues. Heirs’ property refers to property inherited without a will or legal documentation of ownership. As property is passed down, each successive generation generally adds more heirs to the inheritance. The absence of a deed or will can make it more complicated to obtain a clear title to land or a home as time passes. The inability to provide clear title can make it very difficult for families to transfer, or obtain loans on, the impacted property.

Organizations were eligible to receive up to $150,000. The Bank initially allocated $3 million to the Pathway Fund, but it ultimately made more funds available due to demand.
