Disaster Relief Programs Activated for Louisiana Parishes Affected by Hurricane Delta

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (Bank) has activated its Disaster Relief Program (DRP), a low-cost advance program, to assist recovery efforts in Louisiana in response to damage caused by Hurricane Delta. Affected residents in the Bank’s member communities that are declared disaster areas eligible for individual assistance by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are also eligible for the Bank’s Disaster Rebuilding Assistance grants.

In addition to parishes declared eligible in response to Hurricane Laura, new Louisiana parishes eligible for the relief programs include: Acadia, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vermillion. See the FEMA declaration for updates.

Additionally, the Bank announced last week that its Hurricane Recovery Grant (HRG) program was expanded to include those areas of Louisiana that are, as a result of Hurricane Delta, declared by FEMA to be disaster areas eligible for individual assistance (categories A and B). Under the HRG program, the Bank has made available $650,000 in funds to assist members’ employees – either homeowners or renters – whose households suffered a financial loss. HRG applications are available on SecureConnect and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. As of November 9, there was $180,520 in available HRG funds, which are available until exhausted or December 31, 2020, whichever occurs first. Please see the announcement on SecureConnect for more details and complete program requirements.

DRP advances are available today through May 7, 2021. Click here and select the “Disaster Relief Program Advances” tab for more information or contact Member Services at 844.FHL.BANK (844.345.2265).

Applications for the Disaster Rebuilding Assistance grants are available at fhlb.com/rebuilding under Helpful Resources. The funds will be available until exhausted or December 31, 2020, whichever occurs first. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. As of November 6, there was $175,125 in available Disaster Rebuilding Assistance funds.
