FHLBank of Dallas Appoints 2009 Advisory Council Members DALLAS, TEXAS, February 3, 2009– The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (Bank)
is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Cates, Maureen Clary and
Deborah Webster as new members of the Bank’s 2009 Advisory Council.
*Carrie Curet, Shari Flynn and L. Lee Jones have been reappointed as members of
the Advisory Council. Other members include Mark Allison, Dianne Bolen,
Jay Czar, Phillip Eide, James Hargrove, Cassie Hicks, Jane Provo and Darryl
Swinton. The Advisory Council is comprised of 14 representatives from state,
community and nonprofit organizations who advise the Bank’s Board of Directors
on affordable housing and economic development issues. The new three-year
appointment terms began January 1, 2009. New Appointed Members - Ms. Cates serves as Director of Development for the Mary Lee Foundation, an
Austin, Texas-based group that provides opportunities, training and support for
women with mental disabilities. Prior to joining the foundation, Ms.
Cates was a lobby firm partner with Texas Stakeholders in Austin, Texas, where
she helped develop the message and action plans for client issues being
discussed in legislative session or by state agencies.
- Ms. Clary has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for
Humanity St. Tammany West in Mandeville, Louisiana, for the past two
years. Prior to joining the organization, Ms. Clary spent 22 years in
commercial real estate and development, most recently as executive vice
president of Latter & Blum Property Management. Ms. Clary also serves
on the Louisiana Housing Finance Agency Board of Commissioners, the National
Affordable/Workforce Housing Council for the Urban Land Institute and the West
St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce.
- Ms. Webster is a lead consultant for Concept Consulting Group, LLC (CCG),
in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which assists housing organizations and agencies
with the planning and development of affordable housing and economic
development projects. Prior to joining CCG, Ms. Webster spent seven years
as the director of the Native American Program for Enterprise Community
Partners. She serves on the Board of Directors of Homewise, Inc. and on
the Advisory Committee of the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority.
Reappointed Members - *Ms. Curet is the loan committee chair for Southern Mutual Help Association
in New Iberia, Louisiana. She is also the Community Development
Officer for IberiaBank, and serves as a member of its Corporate Compliance and
CRA Committee. Ms. Curet has served on the Bank’s Advisory Council
for six years, and currently serves as chair. She is a member of the St.
Martinville Chamber of Commerce and also serves on the boards of the Iberia
Development Foundation and the Neighborhood Housing Services in New
Orleans.
- Ms. Flynn is Executive Director of the Lubbock Housing Finance Corporation
in Lubbock, Texas, where she oversees programs such as single-family bond
programs, down payment assistance programs, homebuyer and financial literacy
workshops and other programs. Previously, she served as Assistant Vice
President at Lubbock National Bank. Ms. Flynn also serves on the Board of
Directors of the Texas Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies.
- Mr. Jones is Executive Director of Neighborhood Builders Inc. (NBI), a
not-for-profit organization in Little Rock, Arkansas, that specializes in
affordable housing development and neighborhood revitalization projects.
Under his leadership, NBI has redeveloped or created more than 350 units of
mixed-income, multi-family housing. Prior to joining NBI, Mr. Jones
served as executive director of the Little Rock Housing Authority for 11
years.
